Submissions Guidelines
Submissions should be in the region of 2,000 words or upwards, although the best rule of thumb is: it is the length it is - whatever feels most comfortable.
Please remember, you are not writing a review of the story you have chosen. Blake's Heaven will be an anthology of fan reminiscences, about where and when you first watched these stories, how they made you feel, and whatever other thoughts they've put into your head. Generally speaking, we are aiming to collect together some positive, uplifting and fun writing about the series. But moan if you must.
All submissions should be made as a Word Document, or included in the body of the email.
Submissions should also include the following details (emboldened items are obligatory): Your name; age at time of making the submission; location; favourite regular Blake's 7 character; and the Title of your Submission (if different to the name of the story you'll be writing about). (If you'd prefer your age not be made public, then please let us know.)
Example: J.R. Southall, 44, Exeter UK
Favourite character: Gan*
Submission: B For Blake.
Plus (for the website, the following all optional): a 75 - 150 word biog (again, the length of this is not a rule); a photo you'd like to be included; and links to any publications/websites where any other work you've done can be found.
ALL submissions must also include the disclaimer, as seen below. Contributors under the age of 16 MUST also include as part of their submission a separate email from a parent/guardian/responsible adult including an appropriate version of the disclaimer.
The email address for submissions is [email protected], and any queries can also be sent to this email address, or via the You and Who Facebook Page.

Note: While it is JR's preference to omit the apostrophe as in the televised (and thus canonical) logo Blakes 7, apparently Matt and the others prefer to leave the apostrophe in. So when you write Blake's 7, you'd better do it their way.

Formatting
Don't worry too much about what follows, although if you can stick to as much of this as possible, it will be a great help in the editing. All the essays will need to be formatted into a similar style, in order that the finished volume reads essentially as a single piece of work. This is how we prefer the text to appear:
The font should be Cambria, the font size 12. The text should be justified to either side of the page, and the paragraph limits should be 0/0 and single.
Your essay should be in UK English.
Quotes should be in 'single inverted commas'.
Titles of television programmes, films and books should be in bold (including Blake's 7 - and no inverted commas around titles, please). Titles of individual stories or chapters should be italicised.
For this book please use Series for the overall show and Season for each of the four years. Also, when talking of Seasons - use One, Two, Three and Four over 1, 2, 3 and 4.
No CAPITALS for emphasis, please italicise. This is a book and not a forum entry (!), and so no smileys, either...
No breaks between paragraphs, and each new paragraph should therefore begin with a tab space.
Oh, and please remember, there is a chance that minors will be reading this book, so please moderate your language and content accordingly.
** But then JR doesn't put J.R. between his initials either, so what does he know?
